Today I am actually going to create something to decorate my little craft area. My friend sent me these lovely postcards and I’ll show you a little idea I have.
I cannot frame and hang all these. So with some odds and ends I created a nice little decor’ that can be duplicated for only a few dollars. You’ll need, ribbon, a dowl rod or hanger of some sort, hole puncher, and lovely postcards.

You’ll need to take a whole punch and in the middle of each of the postcards punch a hole. I know, experiance crafters required.
Now if I had black ribbon I would have used that but I didn’t. I used any odds and ends I did have. Tie various size ribbons to the card. String em anyway you like on your dowl rod and voila.

I have also seen people take old patterns and frame them like cafe’s do with old photos. This also adds nice simplicity to a sewing area without spending a fortune. Save that for the fabric.

It is finished, horray! I think it makes a lovely dishcloth. How will I ever be able to use it????????
I am attempting the same pattern but trying for a doily.
Thank you dear Cathe for helping me once again on my knitting quest. I am still a begginer knitter. I am trying new things, learning much more, and ripping out even more. Thus, when I tend to acomplish something it is quite a thrill. This week’s acomplishment happens to be a round (yes ROUND!) dishcloth.
I picked the pattern up from here, The pretty cotton dishcloth, and have been messing around for a few months. Finally my dear mother brought me home some beautiful cotton yarn from her out of town trip and stop to JoAnns. I knew almost immediatly which pattern I wanted to do.
So yesterday on the way to Morgann’s open house, out came the needles, pattern, and yarn and into the diaper bag they went. The first rows were easy but then I was to leave two stitches on my needle and completely ignore them. uhhhh, right. My limited capacity brain could not comprehend. No comprendo amigo. I handed the stuff to Mumsie, “explain”. She looked at me with her peircing eyes, “I don’t do patterns. Call Cathe, or Kirky.” Sorry mother but where could I go to hear?
I impatiently waited til we got home, which was not too long after that since it was Euphemia’s naptime and we were still babysitting. I almost immediatly IM’d Cathe. IF there ever was such a picture of a modern Knight in shining armour (feminine version of course) this was it. With much patience Cathe explained it to me. About 15 minutes later I had it all figured out… sort of. It didn’t look right so I kept going… and going… and going… finally I finished one petal. It looked right! Whew. Better do one more to be sure I don’t forget, then I can get a good night sleep.
This morning, I made breakfast and whilst we ate it I continued working, I dare not forget!!!!
I quickly snapped a picture and smiled with pride over what I have acomplished. Things are beginning to look up. With help of dear friends I am figuring out how to do things that I have longed to do for many years!
So, for those that would like to see what I have been trying to acomplish…

So, I have these lovely set of chairs. I have had them for about 3 years. they need re-upholstering. I haven’t done it. Always afraid to mess something up. Well today I succumbed. You know it’s bad when your daughter can start picking at the padding. So I bought some fabric, bribed begged Mumsie for some help and turned this;

into something a little more like this;

I do have a more finished picture but I need to still upload it and it’s getting late. However, I am very pleased with the work and so is hubby!!!!!!!!
What a relief! Shall I explain? Thanks to my dear friend Cathe, I was able to attempt knitting and purling in the same row without creating quadruple the stitches. Ahem, So first, THANK YOU CATHE! You kept my sanity at 8:30pm and I was able to sleep well dreaming of many dishcloths (amazingly they all looked like they were made for my mother’s kitchen.).
So, without further adeu, my working project;

Isn’t it pretified? Lie, if need be. I am very humbly proud! I am reading to make my own pattern for grapes! Ohh.. can you see it?
And now, for the highlight of this post….

Ain’t she cute?
I also want to thank my readers for the lovely comments! It’s such a joy to see them. I intend to reply to each one of our new readers…soon!
My new blog… cause two just aren’t enough!
My sisters are painting their new room (a converted garage), black, red and white. They have done so much for us since Euphemia was born that I wanted to do something extra special for them. This is what I came up with;

I think it will look very nice in there and I do think they will love em. They are made from cotton fabrics. The red has a water droplet design to them. Even the backs (which I didn’t take a picture of) has a cool design.
I am still in shock that I did this. I don’t know why it took me 10 years for it to finally click. I love the internet. The video’s available helped TREMDOUSLY! I cannot emphasize that enough. I have to see to understand.

Finished projects;
3 of these for my neices

This for a friend of mine on another board. A child size prairie bonnet. I think it turned out cute!

I am learning how to knit so this is right by my nursing chair.

And the puzzle you see underneath, was completed this morning. Hubby and I like to work on puzzles in the early morning daylight. We are going to leave this one up for a few days before we destroy our beautiful work. hem, hem. Euphemia I am sure would be more than happy to handle the job of putting it back in the box.

So, what is left you may ask? Don’t ask, is what I say.
I think it turned out all right?

I made these this year for our annual ornament exchange. While I am not exactly pleased with how they turned out…. they are cute! I made them from a certain kind of batting, black floss and a button. The ornaments were made for less than $5.00 and I have enough of the batting and floss to make SEVERAL more… hmm… maybe Christmas gifts??? The pattern I made. Pretty easy really, just put circles on top of each other, cut out and voila- a pattern!
Enjoy! Make em as a easy craft with your childre. Blanket stitch instructions are found http://primrosedesign.blogspot.com/2006/11/stitch-school-blanket-stitch.html
